Inexpensive, secure, and very helpful across platforms
Recently, some of my minor accounts (Netflix, Starbucks) got hacked, and while I got my stolen money back, I spent hours on the phone. The problem? I used the same email and password on a number of sites and now I might be on some “list.” It also doesn’t help that Starbucks was storing their account information unencrypted on their site, and that I didn’t know once you pay with PayPal, it sets up a “forever” linkage unless you shut it off.
That said, I had to reconsider all of my accounts and passwords all over the web. I couldn’t keep them all straight, so I read reviews of password managers. Last Pass was given good reviews, and I liked that I could try it on my laptop first before committing to purchasing it. I couldn’t be happier. I can go in and see the actual password (I use a lot of generated passwords now) if I need to copy and paste it into an app, but most of the time, I’m entering a password into a website, which Last Pass carries nicely across my iPad, multiple Macs, and iPhone. The interface is easy to use, and the price at $12/year is more than reasonable. I cannot imagine anything that would make me happier except if I could backup my last pass data on my Time Capsule. Great product.
