App freezes after a search

Maybe it is a bug with this version but the app freezes EVERY, SINGLE, TIME Steps to reproduce: 1. quick search an account (Apple ID in my case) 2. copy password (re-enter master password prompt) 3. the password is not copied to clipboard, the app is now frozen and the menu that appears when clicking the icon in toolbar becomes grayed out (all of it) The only solution is to get my passwords via safari extension.

A Splash Screen… in a security ap? Really?

In general, I hate splash screens. Pure Ego Ware. But when you put one into a security ap, I don’t understand why anyone wants to announce what they use to the rest of the world. I also hate aps that find a way to put themselves into startup without showing up in the User’s Startup Ap list. It makes If it supported that list, it would also support the ability to suppress the splash screen by using the “Start Hidden” feature of the GUI. Lastly, this app sits in duplication of the browser extension. If one has an internet connection that is not persistent, as in a laptop that is on the road, having access to secure notes outside of the browser is a good idea, as it is to store passwords for desktop applications. I wish for an application that could see when a desktop ap like Quicken was requesting a password, and it could fill that password field in. That is not what this ap does. It really sits in duplication of the extension, so given the silly splash screen, I see it as a good application that I do not need.

Lastpass used to be pretty decent, after being acquired by Log Me In, Not so much

Before being acquired by LogMeIn, Lastpass was a pretty decent application with proper support and applications that were secure and relatively reliable. With the LogMeIn merger they have become bogged down in app design instead of focusing on maintaining functionality. As websites have changed the login methods, from having user id and password on one screen to having the user id on one screen and the password submitted on a different screen, it can be setup in lastpass but requires some creative entry. To further complicate matters a number of websites have implimented some code in their sites which prevents lastpass from plugging in the user id and/or password. All lastpass would need to do is display a help window indicating the website has blocked the attempt to insert the password and to clck here to copy the password so the user can manually paste it in the field. Every time I have run into the website blocking the fill of information it’s because the website has blocked it. I’ve even had a website that would not allow me to paste a password in the password field. All of these are understood barriers, but instead of focusing on alternative ways to fill the password or work with the sites to come up with a way which would satisfy both providers they ignore it and work on the color and layout of their UI. To further errode the support this app is still in version 3 of last pass but all the plugins (OS X & win) and platforms are on version 4. This has caused the app to block my access to my secure notes or form fills, but only temporarily and only from the Mac App. The plugins and extensions still work fine, it’s just the lack of taking a user’s feedback as valid. Even when you try to point out that their website says one thing and they are instructing something else. They don’t get it and the wrong information still lays out on their site causing additional confusion and never getting resolved. I have had premium for 5 years but if they can’t get it together I’m going to explore alternatives.

Excellent password manager!

Been using the free version for a while and finally (and thankfully) purchased the subscription to use it everywhere. Works great between my devices and with two-factor enabled. Will definitely be renewing my subscription and recommending this to anyone looking for safe place to store sensitive information.

do not waste your time with this app

I used the free version of this app for a while but I stopped using it. I revisited it later on and decided to try the pay version so I paid my $12. After I paid, when I attempted to login, my pasword was not as I remembered it. I reached out to LastPass for help and they sent me a password reset email which did not work…I was eventually led to the scren which stated “LastPass account recovery failed. The LastPass browser plugin has not been installed. Please try account recovery again from a browser that has the LastPass plugin installed.” I was using the same computer and the same browser as when I installed the app. I reached out to LastPass and received an email that said they would get back to me; they never did. I trusted my passwords and my personal information to this company and they didn’t have the decency to even respond to my request yet they had no trouble taking my money. I lost $12 and an hour of my morning. DO NOT BUY THIS APP.

Worse than useless

This app doesn’t work when it’s working, and it doesn’t always work. First, it doesn’t work when it’s working: Even if the app were optimally functional, a lot of websites (banks, credit cards, shopping sites) doesn’t allow you to automatically fill in passwords. Second, the app does not always remember the passwords, especially when they’re updated. And don’t even think of letting the app change your passwords for you. That function NEVER works. Moreover, it makes every internet task more cumbersome because you are constantly having to tend to the app. Please don’t buy this app. It will ruin the day you spent trying to set it up, and it will ruin your day every time you try to use it.

Great Features

Geo Fencing access and credit monitoring are great addito9ons to password management.

User for 3 years

As last pass has improved through the last tyree ior four years its improved and has proven totally reliable. I see a couple of negative reviews, its really simple, until you perfectly memorize your master password, write it down. I have no issue, and all I need is the master password. Once you get used to using this - either the app or the program you’ll love it. Even dummies can learn it, so I don’t know about the negative reviews..not much of a geek from his end..you know 14 fingers when hes on a computer?? Anyway use this with confidence, I pay 1$ a month, and have about 400 sites with 16 character passwords that are very hard to hack..easy to use every day.

Review for LastPass owned by LogMeIn Inc.

Good.

Inexpensive, secure, and very helpful across platforms

Recently, some of my minor accounts (Netflix, Starbucks) got hacked, and while I got my stolen money back, I spent hours on the phone. The problem? I used the same email and password on a number of sites and now I might be on some “list.” It also doesn’t help that Starbucks was storing their account information unencrypted on their site, and that I didn’t know once you pay with PayPal, it sets up a “forever” linkage unless you shut it off. That said, I had to reconsider all of my accounts and passwords all over the web. I couldn’t keep them all straight, so I read reviews of password managers. Last Pass was given good reviews, and I liked that I could try it on my laptop first before committing to purchasing it. I couldn’t be happier. I can go in and see the actual password (I use a lot of generated passwords now) if I need to copy and paste it into an app, but most of the time, I’m entering a password into a website, which Last Pass carries nicely across my iPad, multiple Macs, and iPhone. The interface is easy to use, and the price at $12/year is more than reasonable. I cannot imagine anything that would make me happier except if I could backup my last pass data on my Time Capsule. Great product.

Latest update makes it unresponsive

I’ve been a premium subscriber for more than two years and enjoy the convenience. However the OS X updates have been hit or miss - the latest one makes it mostly usable just a single time and then I need to kill the app before any of the menus activate.

Cant log in

I can’t even log in, clicking the login button does nothing

Good start, but with potential for more

I really missed a native LastPass app for Mac and I’m very glad that there is finally a solution available. The featureset corresponds to the web app and Im really glad with the app. Currently I miss a setting to let the LastPass app reside only in the menu bar and hide it from the list triggered by Alt + TAB. Furthermore it would be awesome to have Cmd + Shift + L as a system wide shortcut to trigger the LasPass app, even if it’s closed.

Nice and i liove it, BUT!

Hi, first of all, really cool app. I love it and it improve my workflow again. Really cool. What i like are the shortcuts for fast search and to open the treasure. What i miss: - Share the login with other users - Also on the mobile app share function is missing - share function generally are very difficulty make :-( - dont see history of password changes - dont see with whom this login is shared! - Cannot add at this app „Auto login“ only „disable AutoFill“ When you improve the mobile and macapp with this features you will get from my side 5 *****

Sold :(

Why? Not enough money? I did use Premium LastPass for more than 6 years and now have to search for alternative. Greedy bust…!

A good start but...

I encounterd a couple of functional bugs within the 1st minute of use. At this writing the web browser plugins are more mature/stable. The bugs will be easy to fix and I expect this will be a handy app for Mac users in the near future.

Good Start ...

I love LastPass and it helps me manage all my accounts. One thing I would like would be that it runs in the menu only. As, well does this work with Mac apps or only online accounts?

I may be an atheist, but there is a god!

Me and my 10 year old son have been using lastpass for years on all our devices and we couldn’t live without it. Solide, secure, simple. Great work. Thanks.

From a former LastPass user now using Dashlane..

Despite the forever clunky terrible user interface and the infamous security breach, LastPass was always quite serviceable and very useful, something that I used for several years.. Since it’s inception though, the competition has stiffened with the likes of new apps such as Dashlane that bring a much more comprehensive feature set and an overall better user experience. When comparing both in their current state, I think Dashlane has the superior implementation for things like browser plugins, security notes, payment cards, account management and autofill capabilities. I can’t speak for their mobile apps since I’ve only used Dashlane’s and that was is so-so (I’m definitely not a huge fan) and my brief attempt at using Dashlane’s auto password changed failed as well (the status of my changes hung at “Preparing…”). Finally, I would say that it’s a breathe of fresh air that LastPass at least attempt to overhaul their UI, at least with a dedicated app. It’s not a huge deal breaker since it’s value is mainly in security and storing of passwords, but it just wasn’t very intuitive, so I appreciate that they’re now giving some attention to adding to the user experience. It’s going in the right direction, but still a bit behind Dashlane in many respects.. Right now, things clearly need work with the app. It’s buggy and some areas have inherited the sense of “clunky” from the old days. I’ll keep it installed however, and will keep an open mind! Looking forward to things to come.. Some specific feedback: * Secure Notes “Note Type” dropdown field doesn’t expand when clicked anywhere over the region like it does with a web form, only when clicking on the chevron. * Secure Notes Fields width exceed the viewing area. Referring to the fields that are displayed when a “Note Type” is selected. * Credit Cards: Would be nice if this had it’s own section rather than being tied to an address. I know it’s sensible to attach a credit card to an address, but what if the user had multiple credit cards? They would be entering the same address details over and over. I wonder if it’s easier to split these into two separate sections entirely to give it a sense of modularity and to reduce redundancy / data integrity. * Favorites is a cool idea! Can the favorites be multi-purpose so that rather than being limited to logins, they can apply to everything you can create?

Buggy authentication

After logging in once, I can’t see the vault. I have to quit the application and try again. The authentication seems buggy.
